Aquaworld Aquarium is a natural history museum located in Hersonissos 25 km from the center of Heraklion. Aquaworld Aquarium was founded in 1995 and is one of the 2 aquariums in Crete, but the only reptile rescue center on the island.
Most of the animals are rescued and have found a new home in the Aquaworld Aquarium. There are a number of species from Crete and around the world which visitors can meet up close and personal. Most likely not the favorite place of Indiana Jones, however the rest will find it very enjoyable. John and Dimitris are great hosts and will introduce you to the amazing creatures and assist you with any questions.
