The Monastery of Metamorphosis (Transfiguration) is situated south of the city of Chania in the Varypetro area, approximately 10 km away or an approximate 20 minute drive. The monastery is part of the Monastery of Chrysopigi and was built in 1996 on the ruins of the Castellos fortress.
The monastery is located very close to the Limnoupolis water park so make sure to pay a visit if you are around the area.

Opening Times: Saturday and Sunday
Tip: The monastery has great panoramic views of Chania and for that part alone one might say it is worth the visit.
