The Natural History Museum of Crete is located close to the Heraklion port and operates under the University of Crete. The purpose of the museum is to study and promote the flora and fauna of Crete as well as the eastern Mediterranean.
The museum has four exhibitions floors that cover Mediterranean ecosystem displays, interactive applications, a discovery center, a botanical garden and even an earthquake simulation. This is a very enjoyable experience for families so make sure you drop by for a visit.
